1 .PREDICTIONS -will
- USE:
- Use will, might and may for making predictions or to say what we think of the future.
- The negative forms of will, might and may are: won’t, might not and may not.
- We often use I think/I don’t think to indroduce a prediction.
- We often say I don’t think + will instead of I think+ I won’t.
- Use will when we are more certain of the future. We use may and might when we are less certain.
- Might is more common than may to make predictions, in formal English is better use May.
- ADVERBS OF CERTAINTY:
We often use adverbs with will/won’t for predictions, to say how certain we are. The main adverbs which are used: DEFINITELY, PROBABLY and CERTAINLY.
- Possition of the adverbs of certainty.
- (Affirmative) WILL + (Adverb) + VERB
- (Negative) (Adverb) + WON’T + VERB
We only use these adverbs with will.
