I used to / would
Posted septiembre 26, 2016
on:When we want to talk about an action done repeatably in the past we must use the auxiliary verb «would» or the verbal form «used to». If the verb expresses feelings, thoughts, or states we must use just «used to» and not «would». The auxiliary «would» is used only for action verbs such as walk, work, go, etc. If we need to make a question with the verbal form «used to» we need the auxiliary verb «did» before the subject.
